When it comes to making healthy changes, there are 3 levels that we need to talk about.

Most people stay stuck between 1 and 2…their ENTIRE life. That sucks, because Level 3 is truly amazing. I kno…

What Are Your Life Jackets?

photo-1583512603879-b68fbc57a71b

This week, one of my clients shared with me that in old Japanese, December is called the “Running Month”. She explained that there are two interpretations:

  1. It’s a busy month of running around before the New Year
  2. It’s goes by quickly (like running)

So true, isn’t it?!

She shared this at a perfect time - a morning when I already had a lot on my mind. December has just started and already I’m guilty of getting caught up in all the things I “need” to do for the holidays, end of the year dead…

Nutrient-Packed Cranberry Sauce (No Sugar Added)

IMG_9813

I didn’t plan on sharing this cranberry sauce recipe with you. Not because I wanted to keep it a secret, but because it didn’t exist until about an hour ago. Today is one of those days when almost every hour is scheduled as I finish up deadlines, emails, and pack in preparation for traveling for Thanksgiving. And yet...the cranberries were calling to me. So here we are.

When I think of a recipe, it’s hard to resist (especially when it’s quick and easy)! I love cranberry sauce, but as you kno…

Fall Friday Favorites

IMG_9648

It’s November! Living in North Carolina has helped me to really embrace the changing seasons. I love that the weather gets chilly without lasting forever. Right now, the weather has been absolutely perfect for hiking. Most Sundays, Matt and I have been starting the day hiking on some of the nearby trails by our house. Walking through the woods right along the water is such a rejuvenating way to start the day and recharge from the week. I hope wherever you are, you’re enjoying the fall vibes!

What You Really Need To Know About Fat

photo-1529565214304-a882ebc5a8e6

If dietary fat had a theme song it would start out, “Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down…” Just like the Fresh Prince, dietary fat had an incident of getting into trouble with “a couple of guys (saturated fat and cholesterol) who were up to no good” leading to an over-reaction that impacted dietary fat’s reputation for the past 40 years. Notably, we never heard the story about what caused those “couple of guys” to be causing trouble in the first place. They w…

Friday Favorites: Adventures, Fun, and Magical Mushrooms

Grand Canyon

Happy Friday!

September was jam-packed with lots of fun, travel, exciting changes, and new adventures. We went to Maine twice, had a trip out West (see below), and I started my new veterinary position with Indevets. I believe in creating your own path and finding the balance in life that works for you. For me, that means balancing my veterinary career and health coaching. Indevets' mission believes that happy, healthy vets make better vets. Clearly, they speak my language and share my mission.…

The Potato Magic Trick

photo-1561635741-c416a5193b6e

I want to get you excited about food. I don’t mean the rampant love for french fries, anything cheese, and sweets like cake, ice cream, and all the “good stuff”. I mean the REAL good stuff. The food that’s nutrient-packed, delicious, and that will do amazingly beneficial things for your body.

I love “healthy food”. I love the way it tastes, the way it makes me feel physically and mentally, and I even love the colors. You may not be at this level when it comes to your relationship with he…
