Well-Being Consulting for Veterinary Practice Owners Ready to Lead in Setting a New Standard in Vet Med

Consulting for Veterinary Practices

Clear, supportive guidance for practice owners who want things to feel easier — for themselves and their teams.

If you care deeply about your team but feel stuck, confused, or frustrated about how to support them — you’re not alone.

Many practice owners aren’t struggling because they don’t care or aren’t trying hard enough.
They’re struggling because they’re carrying too much, reacting to problems as they arise, and trying to help without clear insight into what’s actually going on beneath the surface.

This work is about creating clarity and relief — not blame, pressure, or more “things to fix.”

Turning Challenges into Opportunities for Success

1. High Turnover & Burnout

  • Challenge: Turnover is costly, and burnout leads to disengaged employees and team instability. Many owners often feel they’re constantly hiring and retraining, costing valuable time and resources.
  • Solution: Prioritizing well-being allows you to reduce the stress and fatigue that often lead to burnout. My approach includes a nervous system perspective and actionable tools for energy and stress management, helping your team regain balance, resilience, and long-term job satisfaction.
  • Get started: Catch warning signs early. 51% of voluntarily exiting employees say that in the 3 months before they left no one in leadership spoke with them about their job satisfaction or future with the company and yet 52% said they could have done something to prevent them from leaving. Be proactive instead of reactive - check in with each of your employees with the unicorn vet hospital survey.

2. Low Job Satisfaction & Productivity

  • Challenge: A disengaged team leads to lower productivity, customer dissatisfaction, and even costly mistakes. Team members who feel unappreciated or exhausted struggle to provide quality care and build strong client relationships.
  • Solution: Together, we’ll identify ways to build an environment where every team member feels valued, supported, and energized. By integrating sustainable, holistic practices into your daily operations, we’ll improve satisfaction across the team—boosting motivation and productivity.
  • Get Started: Use the free Beat The Burnout: What We Should Have Learned In Vet School for 4 hours of RACE-approved CE sharing key concepts to support you and your team's well-being and energy for long-term success. ⭐️ Bonus: use the unicorn vet hospital survey to monitor the efficacy of the changes before and after implementing a change!

3. Time & Stress Management for Practice Owners

  • Challenge: Many practice owners feel overwhelmed with daily fires, unable to act as the visionary CEO their practice needs.
  • Solution: My approach supports practice owners in  putting your own well-being first, building a foundation of energy, resilience, and mental clarity that allows you to focus on long-term goals instead of getting lost in the details.
  • Get Started: I'm here to help you to  work smarter, not harder  so that you can spend your time and energy on what matters most in and outside of work. Schedule a free 30 minute curiosity and connections call for an opportunity to talk through how things are going and to identify the best place to start based on your current challenges and goals.

Hi! I'm Dr. Amelia Knight Pinkston

Veterinarian | Integrative Health & Life Coach | Consultant | Speaker

II help practice owners understand what’s really driving stress, disengagement, or inefficiency — so supporting people becomes clearer and more effective.

After earning my VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014, I worked in over 30 veterinary practices across general practice, urgent care, and locum roles — across private and corporate settings, thriving cultures and deeply burned-out ones.

Combined with business training (including VBMA), extensive education in trauma, mind-body health, and sustainable performance, and my personal journey recovering from burnout, my background allows me to look at challenges differently — with compassion, strategy, and an eye toward what will actually make things feel lighter and work better long term.

This work isn’t about pointing out what’s “wrong.”
It’s about helping things make sense — so change feels possible.

Did you know...

  • 51% of voluntarily exiting employees say that in the 3 months before they left, no one in leadership spoke with them about their job satisfaction or future with the company

  • 52% of voluntary exiting employees say their company could have done something to prevent them from leaving

  • The average cost of losing an employee is 1.5-2x's their salary

The cost of having a zero-drama, thriving team: priceless.✨

⭐️Be proactive so you don't fall prey to those statistics with the unicorn vet hospital survey

What if one month from now people were already commenting on how much less stressed and happier you seem...

When Katie first came to me, she was a burnt-out veterinarian, stressed to the point that looking at her schedule gave her anxiety and disrupted her sleep. She felt stuck in unhealthy habits, constantly exhausted, and overwhelmed.

Within just one month in the Life Boost program, her fiancé was already commenting on the difference and she was actually looking forward to going to work again —her stress and anxiety decreased, cravings for unhealthy food vanished, and her energy was returning.

By the end of the 6 months, she was nourishing her body in a way that felt good, setting boundaries at work, and improved her sleep. Most importantly, she learned to tune into her body’s signals—leading to a life-changing Celiac diagnosis she otherwise wouldn't have prioritized amid the busyness of vet med.

Imagine a practice with a team you can trust to handle challenges without you being there every moment, turnover is a thing of the past, and you’re free to focus on what truly matters as a visionary leader.

With the Unicorn Vet Hospital Survey and personalized consulting, we’ll identify the exact steps to create a thriving, sustainable practice where well-being drives both your team’s satisfaction and your bottom line. Ready to lead the way?

What I noticed right off the bat and I appreciated was a place of non-judgment and meeting everybody where they were. I saw it for myself and also for the other participants. We obviously put enough judgment on ourselves, and to have somebody who is there saying ‘it's okay to be where you are’ was really nice. It's not this expectation of ‘why haven't you done this?’ and ‘why are you here?’ It's just like, ‘that's where you are. No problem. What else can we do to move this forward?’
