Today we're going to decrease your stress in 10 minutes or less. These days, I think we're all functioning in a chronic state of stress. Stress not only has a negative impact on our mental health but it can have huge consequences on our physical health, as well. And then thinking about that makes us even more stressed!
That's why today I'm sharing 6 things you can do to decrease your stress in 10 minutes or less the next time you're feeling overwhelmed. And in case you're feeling overwhelmed right now, scroll to the end of this post for an instant de-stress!
6 Ways to Decreased Your Stress Right Now:
- Take a few deep breaths. Box breathing and diaphragmatic breathing are my go-to techniques. Both of those are simple and quick ways to activate the parasympathetic nervous system to help your body leave "fight or flight" mode and relax.
- Laugh! Scroll to the end of this post for an instant de-stress.
- Go for a 5-10 minute walk outside to get some fresh air, clear your head, and regroup.
- Strike a power pose.
- Get a hug.
- Perform a random act of kindness!
